ONE DAY COURSE

An intensive and interactive course which shows how to conduct an investigation. In recent years the course has been attended by many daily newspaper journalists who have moved on to dedicated investigative work. It was described by one big city evening paper chief reporter as "stimulating and useful, offering a wealth of advice an tips".

The programme includes:

* how to plan an investigation
* gathering and storing information
* interviewing tricks to obtain information
* working in a team

The course also looks at:

* where information can be found (not least on the internet)
* the use of lateral thinking to help find alternative sources
* how to conduct a company search
* uncover sensitive financial information
