THWO DAY COURSE
Often described as "the engine room" of a publication, the subs' desk is where reporters' and other writers' copy is polished, edited and prepared for publication. This course is an intensive and practical introduction to sub-editing.
Delegates will learn and practice the all the basic skills needed for sub-editing, including:
- text handling and news angles
- ensuring the story is structured correctly
- checking facts
- house style
- spelling and grammar
- writing strong headlines, standfirsts and captions
- proof-reading
- liasing with reporters, designers, editors, production staff and printers
- the role of the sub-editor
